The 3 things you MUST know about fuel contamination!

Water Contamination or AdBlue Contamination

Fuel contaminated with water, irrespective of whether it is petrol or diesel, can be a serious condition to handle in a vehicle - specifically in modern day common-rail engines.

Putting water or AdBlue in fuel can certainly result in idling problems, irregular running, increased smoke and, if it's not sorted out correctly, in some cases blown injectors. Having water in petrol is quicker to drain as compared to water in diesel - mainly due to the fact that diesel is an oil. In spite of this we are able to take care of both situations fairly simply.

You should know though that if the vehicle has been run with the water contamination it will probably need a new fuel filter fitted since the old one will undoubtedly be completely wet and useless.

Boat Fuel Drains

If you've got the wrong fuel, or even contaminated fuel (most usually water contamination or degraded fuel) in a boat we can help remove it. Providing the boat is either on land, or secured close enough to a car parking spot we can reach the fuel storage tanks and remove the contaminated fuel. We've completed many fuel drains at marinas and boatyards throughout the country.

I got there at their car and laughed as I heard to the gal telling off her hubby for actually being so foolish. "Just how could you even be able to put the wrong fuel in the car?" she said to him. Wrong Fuel in Car Somerset - Petrol in Diesel Car Crock Street

I'd only just departed the wife and kids after having a wonderful Sunday roast made by the better half, and I was on my way to sort out a man because he filled the incorrect petrol in his metallic red Fiat Bravo. He was stationed in Crock Street thus it wouldn't be a long time before I got to him. As I pulled up at the car and got busy draining he said to me "Praise God! I stupidly had my concentration on something else and didn't realise I'd put diesel in my petrol vehicle. Is it likely I brought about any kind of harm through running it?" I stated generally there shouldn't be any kind of harm and that I would drain the wrong fuel quickly. Obviously I drained the wrong fuel from the car and filled it with some suitable fuel, and yet another pleased client had the ability to continue their trip without any bother. He did not stop thanking me, and that is actually what helps make working on weekends in Somerset just a small bit less painful to me!

    • Loss of engine power – can feel like the car has run out of fuel
    • A lot of smoke (more than usual)
    • Engine coughing or starting to splutter
